Safety & Compliance

Visiting one of our sites? Here are a few safety requirements to know before you arrive.

Our Quarries operate under guidance and regulation from the Federal Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA)  as required by law.

  • All visitors must sign in at the scalehouse for site specific training. We need you to be signed in so that we know you are on site in case of emergency, and there is site specific training you will need to know before you enter.
  • PPE is required before entering Quarry. If entering the Quarry you must wear reflective wear and a hardhat. Falling rocks from high machinery or overhead stockpiles can be a significant hazard. Even a small rock falling can hurt you.
  • Drivers loading may not exit their truck unless in the designated tarping area. We do not want any drivers exiting their truck cab  in the quarry due to the dangers of being run over or a injury from falling rocks.
  • Drivers use CB Channel 10 to communicate. Use a CB Radio Channel 10 to talk to loader operators, scale or anyone else about product and weight questions.
  • Pedestrians and Mine machinery has the Right-Of-Way on Quarry Roads. If you see a mine machine approaching pass safely or stop and allow them to pass.
  • Pay attention to signs and warning signals throughout the Quarry.
  • All new employees must receive safety training and have a thorough understanding of mine safety specific to the location and position they are working in.

Work Safely > Get Home Safely

Caring for each other and being careful to not to put another person in harms way through an avoidable action is always the best approach.

Always be on the lookout for the other people around you and be mindful of their safety.
